History

Seeing the need for affordable and comprehensive insurance coverage for the residents and businesses of Newark, DE, and the nearby areas, Lawrence Broadbent established Broadbent Insurance in 1946. He believed that building relationships with his customers was key to providing invaluable service. The reputation of the company grew, and future generations of the Broadbent family soon followed him into the business, starting with his sons Dick and Ed.

Lisa Broadbent-DiOssi, Dick's eldest daughter, became the third-generation of the Broadbent family to begin selling Nationwide Insurance products. Her sister, Kim Broadbent, also joined the company.
